Terms of Service
Last updated: May 26, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using deckhost (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. The Service
deckhost provides a free command-line tool and MCP integration for authoring presentations in Markdown, and paid hosting that publishes those presentations to shareable URLs on deckhost.com. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and API tokens, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to publish or distribute unlawful, infringing, or malicious content; to abuse, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; or to exceed the rate limits and plan quotas described in our pricing. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the presentations and other content you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service — including rendering published decks at their shareable URLs. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you upload.
6. AI features
The Service offers optional AI assistance for generating and editing presentations. Prompts and relevant deck content are sent to our AI provider to produce responses. AI output may be inaccurate; you are responsible for reviewing it before use. Managed AI usage is metered in credits as described on our pricing page; you may instead supply your own API key (BYOK).
7. Plans, billing, and refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Metered AI overage is billed in arrears at the rates shown on the pricing page. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
8. Cancellation and termination
You may cancel your subscription or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service for violations of these terms or to comply with the law. Deleted content may be retained briefly in backups before permanent removal.
9. Intellectual property
The deckhost name, software, and site (excluding Your Content) are owned by us or our licensors. The deckhost CLI is provided under its published open-source license; nothing here limits rights granted by that license.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, deckhost is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above, and continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
